TheImpulseNG.com reports that the first who may be replaced is the minister of information, Lai Mohammed. He will be relieved of his duties due to criticisms from the chieftains of the ruling of All Progressive Congress (APC), and members of President Buhari’s kitchen cabinet over what they termed Lai’s “unprofessional information management.”
A shower of attacks from Nigerians have descended on Lai Mohammed after comments he made disparaging the previous government of the former president Goodluck Jonathan, Boko Haram and other issues. The APC members are not happy about the classification of the government spokesperson as a liar, putting a lot of premium on the integrity of the government.
The presidential source said that an idea to move him to another ministry where his voice will not be often heard is being considered. Kayode Fayemi who is the current minister of solid minerals is rumoured to be in line to become the information minister. Fayemi is regarded in the party’s circles as being a very polite, likeable and diplomatic politician whose amiable nature is expected to resound with the public as well as the media.
However, Naij.com cannot independently confirmed this information. President Buhari spent more than three months choosing ministers for his cabinet. He named himself minister of petroleum resources and assigned portfolios to his 36 ministers who were sworn in during an official ceremony at the presidential villa in Abuja on November 11.
