Pictures show the extraordinary (and failed) attempts by smugglers to get narcotics past airport customs.

Smugglers will often try the most audacious and stupid ways to get drugs through customs – and these are no exception.

Officials at two of the busiest airports on the US east coast have released these images to show the desperate – and inspired lengths – some will go to ensure they leave with their hauls.

Although none of these lot did as they were all nabbed before leaving the airport after failing to outfox security.

In one of the most bizarre incidents, a woman was caught with definitely too much junk in her trunk after fashioning a nappy out of duct tape and stuffing it with six kilos of cocaine.

But officials quickly got to the bottom of that case.

Class As have also been found woven into weaves and wigs, rammed in tins of black beans and stashed inside a slab of frozen goat meat.
