2. Prop hooch was a strange concoction

Poussey is known for the awesome hooch she brews on the show, but did you ever wonder what the stuff in her plastic bags actually was? Well, according to Wiley, it was just water with some food colouring, fruit cocktail, and something to make it sweet. Wiley, who is a diabetic, had to ask the prop creators to take out the sweetener they put in the hooch to make it more palatable, as it actually made it impossible for her to drink it. So, when Poussey is chugging hooch on the show, it’s actually just colored water.
