4. Ogun State (It’s all about the Rocks)
If you are interested in a vacation and you do not want to go too far from Lagos, then visiting the Olumo Rocks is a wonderful idea, since Abeokuta is just about an hour drive from Lagos. The Ogun state capital is a very well-known town in Nigeria with many of its citizens having served in various capacities in Nigeria’s history.
This rock has a long history, has it was used by the Egba people in the 19th century as a fortress during the inter-tribal wars of that era. Climbing the rock can be an exhilarating experience, but it is worth it. It also gives you an opportunity to interact with the locals to know their history.
