13. She Has An Onstage Alter-Ego
Stars like Beyonce have famous onstage alter-egos to motivate them during a performance. And it looks like Adele has also tried giving herself a nickname to bring her performances more to life. Beyonce’s is Sasha Fierce while Adele’s is Sasha Carter, a combination of Sasha Fierce and country singer, June Carter. As if that doesn’t tell you Adele looks up to Queen, she told Rolling Stone that she came up with the name of her onstage alter-ego after meeting Beyonce for the first time and having “a full-blown anxiety attack.” As for those rumors about Adele turning down a collaboration with Queen? Yeah, the “Someone Like You” completely denies those rumors and is a die-hard fan like the rest of us. “Obviously, like, Queen B, till the day I die,” she said.
12. She’s An Only Child
The songstress happens to be an only child, joining stars like Charlize Theron, Betty White, Robin Williams, Brooke Shields and Lenny Kravitz. She was born on May 8 in Tottenham, London to British mother, Penny Adkins and a Welsh father, Mark Evans. She was raised by her mother when she was only 20 years old after her father left them when Adele was only two. Rather than spending time with her siblings, Adele took the time as a youngster singing, becoming obsessed with voices. She started singing when she turned four years old. Adele was more into the art of singing than the usual reading kids are taught at that age.
