3. Honored By The Royal Family, Laughed About It
In 2013, the “Chasing Pavements” singer was given the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) for her services to the music industry. Her award was presented to her by Prince Charlesduring a ceremony at Buckingham Palace in December of that year. In true Adele fashion, the Grammy award winner took the award from the future King of England as she burst into laughter. The music star was obviously delighted, and possibly a little nervous, with the award as she was also honored with a medal pinned to her chest. Even though she is a huge star, she is also human and the camera definitely captured that side of her during the service.
2. People Actually Bought A Physical Copy Of 25
With crazy numbers Adele’s third studio album, 25, has generated, people wonder how many of those albums were actually sold in stores like the good old days and not just downloaded. The album reportedly sold 1.71 million copies as compact discs. If you combine the number of physical CDs and downloads, 25 sold 335 copies per second in one week. It became the best-selling album in the US of 2015 in just one week. Adele’s 25 also accumulated 41% of all album sales in that one week. We wonder how she feels for outselling her idols, Rihanna and Beyonce, in first-week sales for new albums.
