As everyone knows, sanitary towels or menstrual pads are used primarily to collect the blood. Most women know from experience the best time for a change. It might be because a certain amount of hours have passed, or because the sanitary towel feels ‘full’.
Women should ideally change every five hours, if sanitary pad is used to avoid pad rashes. Few women with heavy flow usually get this if the pad is not changed on time and has remained moist for a long time. In such a situation, it tends to rub against the thigh which brings in redness, itching and slight inflammation.
Nowadays products always have a top sheet which will stay dry. Therefore you should not wait until the sanitary towel feels wet. Most sanitary towels have an absorbent to prevent leakage. If there is no chance of leaking yet, it is necessary to change the pad regularly to avoid smell.
