Tyson Fury returns, wants ‘easy’ Anthony Joshua fight

British boxer Tyson Fury has announced his ring return, describing himself as a “boomerang” itching for an “easy” win over Anthony Joshua. Fury, dealing with a myriad of personal issues, announced earlier this year that he was retiring from boxing, but has since returned to training with a view to reclaiming his heavyweight belts. The Gypsy King has not fought since his shock upset of Wladmir Klitschko to become world champion back in November 2015 and had his license stripped late last year following a doping offence by the UK’s anti-doping body in June 2016.

But the unbeaten 29-year-old has now announced his return to the gym, admitting that he couldn’t wait for the Joshua fight, Mirror writes.

“You know what they call me: the boomerang. I always come back,” Fury told BT Sport ahead of Billy-Joe Saunders’ world title defence. “It’s a fight that people would like to see and it’s a fight that I would love.

“It’s an easy fight for me with my boxing skill and let’s hope it’s on Boxnation and BT Sport.”

But the maverick boxer admits there’s work to be done before he gets into top shape.

“To be honest, I’ve got to get some weight off.

“I’ve lost nearly two stone in two weeks, so everything is going really well at the moment.

“I’ve really turned my life around and done a U-turn on everything and I’m feeling a lot better than I did before.

“I’m back enjoying the gym work and that is how it is supposed to be.

“I’m a long way from getting back in the ring, but I’m on the right path.”
