13. They Are Steadily Building A Follower Army By “Keeping It Real”
Despite flashing the cash, like Kylie’s $400,000 Lamborghini Aventador SV, and Kim and Kanye’s reported $750,000 gold-plated toilet seats in their Bel Air mansion, the Kardashians make sure they stay relatable. How? By making sure their image says “Keeping It Real.” They tug at our heart strings by documenting their family values, like the cute pics Kim and Kourtney post of their kids, Kim’s notorious late-night McDonald’s visits, and after a three-month hiatus from her social media (following her harrowing 2016 robbery), a more toned-down image of her in simple surroundings. Replacing her custom-made designer gowns with a Topshop dress at the 2014 Met Gala, Kendall’s been spotted wearing affordable clothing, and their “shop my look” posts frequently come with budget-friendly alternatives. The more we relate to them, the more we follow them, so it’s not surprising Kim and Kylie’s Instagram followings now sit at over 100 million each, with the other Kardashians not far behind.
12. They Earn Up To $500,000 Per Social Media Post
In a 2017 interview with US Weekly, Michael Heller, CEO of Talent Resources (the company handling the family’s deals) revealed $500,000 as the figure some companies are prepared to pay Kim Kardashian for a single tweet or Instagram post. While that figure drops to $400,000 for Kendall and Kylie, and $250,000 for other Kardashians, Heller stated social media as accounting for “25% of their income.” Whether it’s Fit Tea, the LuMee phone case Kim is always promoting, or SugarBearHair vitamins from Kim, Khloe, and Kylie, they’re raking in a fortune simply by mentioning a brand’s name. They do it more discreetly too, like Kylie making sure she’s wearing something by Puma (with whom she has a contract). Likewise, are Kendall’s Adidas and Estee Lauder-related posts. If $500,000 a year is your dream salary, imagine earning that just by updating your Instagram.
11. They’re Even Getting Paid To Attend Their Own Birthdays
It’s reported Kylie was paid $100,000 just for turning up to her own 18th birthday party at Beachclub in Montreal, where of course, she arrived by helicopter and private boat. That’s a lot of money to earn while partying the night away. Fans went nuts just to see her arrive, and despite a birthday cake costing an estimated $3000, it’s reported the reality star only stayed for about an hour. That figure turned way bigger in 2014, when Kim was paid a reported $500,000 to accompany an Austrian business tycoon to the Vienna Opera Ball. No doubt they have their days where they’d rather stay in bed, but being offered half a million dollars for a night out? We know we wouldn’t turn it down.
