Kylie Jenner has literally grown up before our eyes, thanks to her momager and older siblings. She was just nine when she first appeared on Keeping Up With the Kardashians back in 2007, and every since this moment, all eyes have been on her. She may not have chosen that path for herself, but she’s definitely embraced it and she’s become hugely successful. In fact, she’s fast becoming the most popular member of the Kardashian-Jenner clan (and may soon push her big sister, Kim Kardashian, off her reality star throne). Kylie has already amassed 105 million followers on Instagram, she has a sought-after makeup collection, Kylie Cosmetics, and her own spin-off TV show, Life of Kylie , and there seems to be no stopping her. But there is also a lot of attention on her style transformation, and after gracing the pages of multiple fashion magazines, it’s not surprising that everyone takes note of what Jenner is wearing when she steps out in public. Well, that was until she became a young mother to a baby girl, Stormi Webster (who she shares with her boyfriend, Travis Scott), and now her style appears to have dramatically changed, again! 15 Surprise! Kylie Jenner Was Once A Hello Kitty Lover Out of all the Kardashian-Jenner siblings, we have seen Kylie Jenner have the biggest style transformation and perhaps that’s because her every move has been recorded and filmed. Unsurprisingly, her clothing choices have changed a lot over the last ten or eleven years, and gone are the days when Jenner would wear Hello Kitty sweaters. This photo was taken at the unveiling of the Forever 21 for Hello Kitty collection and shows Jenner keeping it casual (she’s a preteen after all) in shorts and an oversized sweater. There’s so much happening with this outfit though, from the bright print to the even brighter lipstick, and then the in-your-face, oversized bow. Given Jenner’s age at the time, there’s nothing really wrong with this look, it’s just hard to imagine the Kylie we know now wearing it! 14 Conservative And Classic Was Her Approach As A Preteen As she grew up, she started to ditch the sweaters and hoodies with popular culture figures printed on them and opted for a more muted, monochromatic wardrobe. Quite simply, the fact that she was growing up was reflected in her style. This was Kylie Jenner in 2011 when she attended the Hollywood Style Awards. She was 13 years old at the time, and you can see that she was starting to get experimental with her style. The long-sleeve embroidered lace top is a very mature look for her, and she chose to wear it with a black diagonal hem skirt, revealing some skin, but not too much. In comparison to her fashion now, Jenner was a lot more conservative and classic in her approach to fashion (then again, she was a preteen). 13 There Was A Time When Kendall And Kylie Were Twinning In 2012, Kylie and her sister Kendall Jenner were photographed at a KIIS FM event, and both siblings opted for high-waisted shorts. To balance the look, they covered up on top with Kendall choosing to be more edgy with a black leather jacket and red heeled boots, while Kylie chose to go for a more feminine, but again more mature look, by wearing a white button-down top and simple black heels. It’s really easy to look back on Kylie Jenner’s style evolution and see just how much she’s changed, and there are probably more than a handful of outfits she wishes she never wore. That said, more often than not, even in her youth, Jenner got it right, especially after she came out of that hideous animal print phase. As she got older she started trying out different styles and although her looks became less adventurous in color and print, they became more interesting in cut and shape. Jenner started choosing outfits that showed more skin than her younger years, but they were still age appropriate. She was 14 when she attended the Teen Choice Awards in 2012 in this cute, burgundy, printed cut-out dress, but my only criticism of this look is how she should have paired it with flats. Instead, she chose to jazz up the outfit up with a pair of silver sandals (she grew up faster than most teenagers). 12 Shorter Hems And Interesting Cuts Start To Creep In It’s really easy to look back on Kylie Jenner’s style evolution and see just how much she’s changed, and there are probably more than a handful of outfits she wishes she never wore. That said, more often than not, even in her youth, Jenner got it right, especially after she came out of that hideous animal print phase. As she got older she started trying out different styles and although her looks became less adventurous in color and print, they became more interesting in cut and shape. What I mean by this is you don’t have to wear fancy dresses or short hemlines to turn heads, and when Jenner stepped out in a denim and cropped top combo, she looked great. She wore a pair of tight-fitted black high-waisted jeans and a cropped turtleneck, showing just a slither of skin. The fact that she didn't completely cover up made her look more fun and youthful, and her decision to wear all-black was a smart one because it made the look appear timeless, streamlined and sophisticated. Is this minimalist fashion at it's best? We would have to say so! 10 She Channeled Her Inner Rock Chick When Kylie Jenner was spotted strutting her stuff on the streets on this particular day in 2013, she was channeling her inner rock chick, and this marked the beginning of a cooler, more edgy reality star! This look was more grungy that some of her previous outfits, and it showed a new side to Jenner’s personality and style. She opted for a Yeezus concert tee (which paid tribute to Kanye West), which she combined with a tartan mini skirt created a look that was super cool. This was perhaps also the year that Jenner began her love affair with T-shirts (which years later became one of her wardrobe staples). To complete the look, she chose black boots, and if you’ve noticed something about Jenner’s style it’s that the one consistent thing has been her great choice in footwear! 9 Say Hello To The New, Edgier Kylie Jenner Kylie Jenner has grown up in front of fans' eyes but she has also worked hard to shed her child star image, and she’s done this partly through her outfit choices. When 16-year-old Jenner and her sister, Kendall, stepped out onto the red carpet of the Billboard Music Awards in 2014, they did so in style. As this image so clearly shows, this was the start of Jenner’s love affair with tight-fitted garments and her white cocktail dress clung to her body in all the right places, but it was still modest thanks to the below the knee hemline. She finished off her look with super chic, lace-up Louboutin heels. Some people thought this look was too racy for Kylie, but she showed she was no longer a little girl and had transformed into a teenager with attitude. She also opted for an edgy haircut and dip-dyed her hair green (her love of wigs soon followed). 8 She Slowly Started Becoming Kim Kardashian’s Mini-Me Living life in the limelight must come with an incredible amount of pressure to constantly look good, but luckily for Kylie Jenner, her family are all famous because of their influence on the fashion industry. And it seems that in 2014, her older sisters' styles started to rub off on her. Her decision to wear tighter clothes with shorter hemlines resembles the fashion choices of her big sister, Kim Kardashian (who is also known for dressing her curves in figure-hugging garments). Jenner may share that with Kardashian, but she’s also her own person and is willing to take fashion risks, especially with colors. Although she usually opts for solid colors, she chose an interesting Barbara Bui baby blue dress with a white print when she was leaving a New York hotel in June of 2014, and secured her spot as a fashion icon with it. 7 When You’ve Got It, Flaunt It When you know that something works for you, why change it? This seems to be the motto that Kylie Jenner follows when it comes to her style, which is why you'll often see her wearing bodycon and wrap dresses, like this stunning orange piece (which is reportedly from Pretty Little Thing and super affordable). What you have to admire about Jenner’s fashion is that she’s a risk taker and she’s nothing if not versatile. Although she loves solid, muted colors, which look good on her and lend themselves well to most settings, she’s also not afraid to try out color, and orange is not an easy one to pull off. However, this particular hue looks great against her skin tone and dark hair, and she finished it off strong with silver sandals and a gold bracelet (again, she’s come a long way from the days she wore oversized bows in her hair, and plastic statement necklaces). 6 When Something Works For You, Why Change It? When you think of a bodycon dress, you automatically think of the Kardashian-Jenner clan because they basically made this style popular, so it should come as no surprise, especially at this stage of the list, that Kylie Jenner is a fan. When she stepped out in Los Angeles in 2015 wearing a suede bodycon, she proved that even the most simple styles can turn heads if you get creative with the textures, and because this dress is suede, it’s interesting. Over the years, Jenner’s clothes have become more revealing but even though she wears tight-fitted clothing, she always balances her look and doesn’t cross the fine line of what is considered chic and what’s tacky because there's too much skin on display. With this particular look, she decided to make her legs the focus and opted to cover up the top half of her body in a dress that had long sleeves and a modest round neck. 5 Who Says Comfort And Fashion Don’t Go Hand-In-Hand? You can’t expect to see celebs in ball gowns and cocktail dresses every second of the day, and although Kylie Jenner may be a style icon, in her downtime, she is practical and wants to wear clothing that doesn’t take an entire team of people to help her get into. In recent years, we’ve seen the athleisure trend take off and it’s an approach to fashion that’s loved by models, celebs, and the rest of us because it’s so effortlessly chic. But leisure doesn’t mean you stroll out of bed without any thought going into your outfit, and if Jenner’s looks prove anything it’s that comfort and style can, and do, go hand-in-hand. In this image, she was spotted wearing grey leggings, which she matched with a cropped top, and to make the look even chicer, she pulled it together with a white denim jacket. 4 Dressing Down Doesn’t Mean Dressing Badly When it comes to stealing a celebrity's style, that’s often a lot easier said than done, but if you’re a fan of Kylie Jenner and athleisure, then this is definitely one look you can easily recreate because it’s so simple. High-waisted leggings became her thing for off-duty style and it seems she found a perfect balance between comfort and fashion. Also, the combination of black and white makes for a very stylish appearance. This image may show her taking fewer risks with her fashion than before, but this was how her style evolved in 2016. And again, muted tones (especially white) returned as her favorite colors! There’s something about white that makes it such a popular color among celebs and fashion bloggers and that’s because it’s such a crisp and fresh hue that it demands attention. 3 Nothing Is Cuter Than A Knot Dress Kylie Jenner wowed her fans when she posted this photo of herself donning a mini satin knot-front dress on her Instagram. She racked up the likes and comments and it’s not hard to see why because, as she has proven in recent years, she knows what looks good on her body and she’s not afraid to show a little skin, or perhaps, in this case, a lot . She opted for a dress that is not only short with a slightly split hemline, but also one that has a sultry plunging neckline. This image was from September of 2017, and not long before the rumors that the youngest member of the Kardashian-Jenner clan was pregnant started. And before we go into detail about her awful maternity style, we have to give Jenner credit where credit is due because mini dresses are definitely her thing, and they look really good on her. 2 The Worst Celeb Maternity Style Yet Basically, throughout her relationship with Travis Scott, Kylie Jenner has opted for a more casual approach to her wardrobe. Even in the beginning when he was first spotted with Scott at a Houston Rockets game, she was wearing ripped mom jeans and a red tee. But it’s not T-shirts that were the problem with Jenner's maternity style, it was the fact that when she was pregnant, she was so desperate to hide it that she wore oversized garments, which left her looking sloppy. This particular outfit is perhaps the most unexpected of Kylie’s looks, and the least flattering maternity style ever. And even though we understand she had to go the oversized route in an attempt to hide her pregnancy from the prying public, this was probably the nine-month period in Jenner's life where no one wanted to steal her style, and she proved that it wasn’t just Kim Kardashian who got maternity style for her first pregnancy so wrong. 1 Have Bold Tracksuits Become Her New Normal? Kylie Jenner shared this photo on Instagram one month after giving birth to her daughter, Stormi Webster, and it seems she’s not going to be putting her revealing clothes back on anytime soon. Of course, she’s a new mom and her body is still recovering from pregnancy and childbirth so we don’t expect to see her in high fashion, but her style has definitely evolved again and she’s back to wearing tracksuits and focusing on athleisure. Because she’s Kylie Jenner, the average sweatpants won’t cut it and her look was anything but boring, as she opted for the bold, branch print hoodie created by Alexander Wang, complete with matching sweatpants.
