On December 5, 2019, Nigerian activist turned politician, Omoyele Sowore, regained freedom from detention. He was released after spending 124 days in detention.
He appeared in court on Friday, December 6, but it appears he faced some trouble from the DSS who tried to re-arrest him.
According to Sahara Reporters, Sowore was strangled by a gun brandishing officer in his attempt to re-arrest him.

Nigerian singer, Davido, has reacted sadly to the development.
According to him, justice is slowly becoming a thing of the past in Nigeria.
According to him, a child whose dream is o become a lawyer might be discouraged after seeing the drama that played out in court between Sowore and the security agents.
