Popular Nigerian musician, Habeeb Okikiola known professionally as Portable, has disclosed that he rejected an offer to perform at President-elect, Bola Tinubu’s pre-inauguration concert in Abuja.
For the performance, which took place on Thursday, May 25, 2023, no fewer than 46 musicians were engaged.

According to Portable, he was one of those invited but declined since the organizers wanted to take advantage of him.
He stated that the Inauguration management team told him he would only receive N5 million, despite the fact that they told him the budget for artists was N10 million per head.
The Zazuu star claimed that because it enraged him, he rejected the invitation, tore up the offer, and blocked the caller’s number.
Naira Marley, Waje, Brymo, Asake, Fireboy, Kaycee, Asake, Timaya, BNXN, Pasuma, Tony Tetuila, and Seyi Vibes are just a few of the artists who gave performances.
Speaking about the incident, he criticized the artists who agreed to attend the event at the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja to entertain guests.
He said; “Na so dem call my manager say make I come perform for Abuja, say na N10 million dey drop oh, but na N5 million go reach portable hand. Na so I no gree, I tear the paper, I delete their number. No be me be star? Na im make me no perform for Abuja oh!”
