Jacob Neestrup, FC Copenhagen’s manager, asserted that their victory over Manchester United in the Champions League was achieved with their “weakest” performance of the season.
Despite coming from two goals down to win 4-3, Neestrup acknowledged the need for a slice of fortune after their 1-0 loss at Old Trafford two weeks ago.
Reflecting on the overall group stage, he stated that Copenhagen deserved their second-place position, considering their performance over the four games, even though he deemed the latest match as their weakest.
In his words
“For me as Copenhagen coach it was by far the weakest performance we have had in this group stage so far.
“If you take the picture today maybe we didn’t deserve three or maybe even one point.
“But if you take it over four rounds then it’s very, very well deserved Copenhagen is second place. I believe we have truly been the second best team over four games. Not today, but over four games.”
