Following 9/11 the world underwent a rapid transformation: Western countries adopted a foreign policy of military interventionism, civil rights were willfully surrendered for promises of greater security, and the new fear of Jihadi terrorism blanketed the minds and hearts of millions. On September 11, 2001, a series of four coordinated terrorist attacks targeting the World Trade Centre buildings and the Pentagon resulted in the deaths of almost 3,000 civilians – the largest loss of life by a foreign attack on American territory. However, despite the massive ramifications of the attacks, it’s surprising to realize how much people aren’t aware of. For instance, many people are still unaware that a third tower, World Trade Centre building 7, wasn’t hit by a plane but still collapsed in an identical manner to the twin towers. Many people are also unaware that George H.W. Bush met Osama Bin Laden’s brother on the morning of 9/11 and that nano-thermite explosives were found in the debris at Ground Zero.

To this day, 9/11 is still a very delicate topic to discuss. It’s necessary to note that this article is not claiming to know all the details of what really happened that day, nor is it aiming to offend anyone. The primary purpose of this article is to make a point: that when an event has severe ramifications, it’s essential people do all they can to become informed and educated.

11. The 9/11 Commission Report Has 28 Pages Missing

Formally named the Final Report of the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States, the 9/11 Commission Report is the official report of events concerning the 9/11 attacks. Unfortunately, the report is shrouded in controversy. First, 28 pages of the report have never been released to the public and remain classified. Second, the commission complained they couldn’t effectively conduct their investigation due to extremely limited funds. Consider this: the commission received $15 million to investigate 9/11 whereas over $60 million was spent investigating the Monica Lewinsky scandal. Lastly, 6 out of 10 members of the 9/11 commission testified to the investigation being “set up to fail.”
