The PDP leaders operating under the auspices of Kice Awareness for Change have adopted the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State, Barr Simon Lalong, Daily Trust reports.
“We strongly support and endorse the candidature of Rt Hon Simon Bako Lalong and Professor Sunny Tyoden (as governorship candidate and running mate respectively) in the April 11, 2015 general elections. We reject, in totality, political imposition or hegemonic local imperialism by a microscopic cabal in Plateau State,” the group said.
This was disclosed on Monday, March 9, at a press conference in Jos.
According to the Kice Awareness for Change which also comprised some members of APC, the state governor, Jonah Jang was wrong in anointing Pwajok as PDP candidate, being aware that they are kinsmen from Plateau North Senatorial Zone, and popular opinion favoured a southern Plateau person as the next governor.
Reading out the text of the press conference at TV Hall of the Catholic Bishop Court in Jos city’s Jenta Adamu, Chairman of the group, Hon Ayik John Sati said the appropriate region to produce the next Plateau governor is the Southern zone of the state.
Sati, a former PDP chairman in Bassa LGA, accused Jang of further aggravating the security situation in the state by reducing governance to a family affair
“Jang has further aggravated the situation by reducing governance to a family affair and running the state like a provision shop where his siblings have unfettered access to all the items in it to the detriment of civil servants and pensioners who have gone between four and nine months without their emoluments,” he said.
Some months Jonah Jang, had appointed one of his sons, Yakubu, as the Commissioner for Lands and Urban Planning in the state.
