All eyes were on her, and she absolutely floored them with her choice of attire. The dress had semi-sheer printed fabric on the bottom, but the wow factor came from the deep, deep plunging V neckline. Whether you loved it or hated it, you can’t ignore that the dress absolutely set the media on fire, immediately eclipsing any other garment on the red carpet at that event.

9. Rose McGowan – 1998 MTV Video Music Awards

In the late 1990s, Rose McGowan was dating shock rocker Marilyn Manson, so it only seems fitting that she would want to shock with her choice of gown at the MTV Video Music Awards. Apparently, she decided to follow the old saying that all press is good press, and figured she could turn herself into a household name by scandalizing on the red carpet.

She turned up to the 2014 American Music Awards in basically a thong, pasties, and a floor length mesh dress (with long sleeves, obviously, to keep things classy). Everyone definitely noticed her – but not for her talent. She wasn’t the slightest bit embarrassed about her wardrobe choice, although she stated in an interview that her parents were utterly humiliated. Well…

If you’re going to show up in a risky, avant-garde ensemble, the CFDA Awards are a much better bet than the Oscars or Academy Awards. With all that said, Rihanna still shocked everyone with her outfit choice in 2014.

She showed up in a floor length, sleeveless, sparkly mesh gown that left absolutely nothing to the imagination. She had the sense to wear some nude underwear underneath the ensemble, but decided to go braless in the nearly backless dress. She did a little peep show on the red carpet, carrying a fur stole that she sometimes draped around her upper body and then dropped.

British model Kelly Brook is known for her curvaceous figure and sex appeal, so it probably comes as no surprise to see her on this list – she’s definitely not one to shy away from flaunting what she’s got.

At the London premiere of Snatch way back in the day, Kelly showed up in a vibrant pinkish-purple gown. Although, calling it a gown might be a little generous – it was basically a sparkly swimsuit with a bit of extra fabric trailing down the one side. The gown showed off pretty much every single one of her assets and definitely got a lot of attention from the media.
