#8. David Beckham and the boot incident

Former England and Manchester United captain David Beckham was an idol at Old Trafford, but he had a strained relationship with Sir Alex Ferguson. Back in 2003, after losing to Arsenal in a FA cup game, the Scottish manager furiously threw or kicked a boot at David Beckham which hit him above the eye, causing a cut that required stitches.
