These celebrities have been known to come up with a number of random reasons for cancelling a concert. While we know that every professional needs a break sometimes, there are some artists out there who should probably learn better time management. After all, the fans of these celebs pay their hard-earned money for concert tickets, and deserve to see the performances they’ve been hoping for.
There are probably lots of concert cancellations that never make it to the media. Like we said, we understand that celebrities can’t be everywhere all the time. However, there are a few that are pretty disrespectful concert cancellations that the public should be made aware of (or reminded of). So, if you’re wondering which concerts to attend this year, this list could help you to organize your social calendar a little better. Here are 12 of the most disrespectful concert cancellations ever.
12. Lauryn Hill
She was once the reigning queen of conscious hip hop. The world first took notice of Lauryn Hill when she was a member of the group The Fugees, and when she played sassy, street-smart Rita in the movieSister Act 2: Back In The Habit. Her album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill is still one of the best musical projects in hip-hop, even though it was released in the late 1990s. Perhaps that’s why Lauryn Hill once got rude with a fan when she was hours late to her concert and he complained. She promptly told the guy that he could leave, and that he wasn’t getting his money back! Hill has also cancelled performances due to exhaustion and vocal issues, and was pretty nonchalant about the fact that she’d disappointed her fans. More recently though, the singer and rapper cancelled her concert in Israel, because she was not able to perform in Palestinian territories and wanted to send a message of peace and unity to the region.
