IK OGBONNA Ikechukwu Mitchel Ogbonna is the new Nollywood fine boy. IK, as he is popularly called, is known for his lover boy and bad guy roles in movies. IK, who was once rumoured to be a gigolo, told ENCOMIUM Weekly in an interview, “If they call me a gigolo, they should bring out whose mother I have slept with.” 2014 was a busy year for the model cum actor who featured in movies like My Rich Boyfriend, Derimas Dilemma, Wrong Selfies, Misplaced Desires and Ikogosi, the last turn on the left. He also won some awards including Avant Garde Revolutionary Actor of the Year, Cynosure Best Actor/Model and Ping Recognition Awards. IK was also nominated for Best Actor in Drama at Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards.

ALEX EKUBO Alex Okwareke Ekubo is one of the fast growing Nollywood actors. The model cum actor has shot several commercials for numerous products in Nigeria. Alex participated in Mr. Nigeria 2010 pageant and was the first runner-up. Some of the movies that shot him to limelight include Weekend Getaway and In the Cupboard. 2014 was a busy year for Alex. He featured in many movies such as Hazeezat, Misplaced Desire, My Rich Boyfriend and Champagne. Alex won several awards in 2014 which included Avant Garde Model of the Year.

OC UKEJE OC Ukeje came to prominence after winning Amstel Malta Box Office (AMBO), after which he became the toast of movie producers. OC has won many awards for his articulate interpretation of scripts which include Africa Movie Academy Awards, Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards, Nollywood Movies Awards, Best of Nollywood, Nigeria Entertainment Awards and many others. OC has featured in cinema blockbuster movies such as White Water alongside Nollywood diva, Rita Dominic, Two Brides and a Baby, Hoodrush, Alan Poza, Half of a Yellow Sun and Confusion na wa. 2014 was sure busy for OC. He featured in movies like Secret Room, A Place in the Stars and more importantly took a walk down the aisle with his heartthrob, Ibukun Togonu.

GIDEON OKEKE Tinsel big boy, Gideon Okeke is gorgeous and confident. Gideon came to spotlight when he participated in first and only Big Brother Nigeria reality show in 2008. He has featured in some hit movies and series such as Relentless Love, Tinsel, Jacob’s Cross. Gideon is also a host on DSTV. In 2014, he featured in some movies that were nominated for awards like A Place in the Stars and When Love Happens. Gideon is also nominated for Best Actor in Drama at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award 2015.

IVIE OKUJAYE Tall and vibrant Ivie Okujaye is also one fast-growing actress Nollywood has produced. Little Genevieve as fans call her, came to spotlight in 2009 when she won Amstel Malta Box Office (AMBO) 5. Ivie is a script writer, dancer, producer and a singer. She has won several awards including AMAA and AMVCA. Some of Ivie’s works include The Volunteers, directed by Desmond Elliot. In 2014, Ivie released her blockbuster movie, Make a Move, which was nominated for Best Movie Drama at AMVCA 2015. Ivie was born on May 16, 1987. She studied Economics at the University of Abuja. She has featured in cinema blockbusters such as Black Silhouette and Hotel Majestic.

BELINDA EFFAH Belinda Effah is also one of the fast rising actresses in Nollywood. The Calabar-born role interpreter came to spotlight in popular movie, Kokoma and Tales of Eve, a popular TV series. She made her debut in Shallow Waters, then contested for one of the popular reality shows in Nigeria, The Next Movie Star, where she displayed exceptional talent. The curvy actress is a toast of many. Belinda has won several awards including GIAMA, AMAA, NEA, BON and NEA. In 2014, Belinda featured in the movie, Birthday Bash and others.

AMANDA EBEYE Ebony-skinned actress, Amanda Ebeye is a graduate of International Studies and Diplomacy from Benson Idahosa University, Benin. Amanda came to limelight in 2007 in a movie entitled Weeping Tiger. She has shot several movies and soap operas such as Clinic Matters, Super Story. Ebeye is also a part time model. In 2013, Amanda said if she is offered $50 million, she could act nude. “For $50 million, I can act nude. I respect our culture but there is a lot of pretences.” Amanda Ebeye is also one of the ambassadors for leading network providers, Etisalat.

TOYIN AIMAKHU Toyin Aimakhu is one of Nollywood queens, most especially in the Yoruba genre of the industry. She is the toast of top movie producers and marketers in Nigeria. Her interpretation skills, street mannerism and sophistication power her acting. Toyin shot into limelight in the early 2000s with the popular flick, Shola fe pa mi. In 2014, she featured in most Yoruba movies including Richest Boys, Fatimah, Oritoke and Alakada Part 2, which she produced. Surviving a recent crack in her close-to-two-year marriage, Toyin and he actor hubby, Niyi Johnson are back together.

FEMI ADEBAYO Lateef Olufemi Adebayo is the son of prolific thespian, Adebayo Salami, popularly known as Oga Bello. Femi debuted in 1996, in the popular movie, Owo Blow. Later, he was off the scene to pursue his academic career in law. He returned to the industry in 2006 and became a household name when he released his popular flick, Jelili. Femi is said to be one of the highest paid actors in the Yoruba movie genre. Femi in an interview with ENCOMIUM Weekly, revealed that it’s about branding and packaging. 2014 was a blessed year for him because he featured in almost all the popular Yoruba movies including Omo University, Muta to London, Oyenusi, 31 Idiots and many more. Femi Adebayo is a graduate of Law from University of Ilorin. His acting career sure pays because he has built a mansion in Ibadan where he is based. He’s married and blessed with lovely children.

ODUNLADE ADEKOLA

Tall and handsome role interpreter, Odunlade Adekola is one of the most sought after actors in Yoruba movie genre. Odunlade started his acting career at Christ Apostolic Church, Lanfewa, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Odun, as his fans call him, was introduced professionally into the movie industry in 2005. Odun became a street anthem in 2013 when he produced and acted in the popular movie, Sunday Dagboru. He has equally produced movies like Farapamo, Fayebora, Ila Owo, Baba Super and the popular Emi ni ire kan. He was once rumoured to have dated Taiwo Aromokan and Ronke Odusanya (a.k.a Flakky Ididowo).

2014 was sure a busy year for Odun as he featured in most remarkable Yoruba movies such as Aroba, Oyenusi, Omo University and many others. Odunlade has built a massive mansion in Olomore, Abeokuta, Ogun State where he is based.

In 2013, Odun enrolled at the Faculty of Distance Learning (DLI) University of Lagos. He is married to Ruth Abosede Adekola and their union is blessed with three boys. Odun is also one of the ambassadors of telecoms giant, Glo.
