9. The Adventures of Pluto Nash (2002)
Eddie Murphy has had a roller coaster of a career. He excelled in the 1980s with Beverley Hills Copand a multitude of comedies throughout the 1990s. In 2002, he took on the role of Pluto Nash in director Ron Underwood’s futuristic comedy. Pluto owns a successful nightclub and when it is destroyed, he and his band set out to find out who was behind the attact. The Adventures of Pluto Nash was hardly an astronomical success. The profits of $2,182,900 would barely rebuild Pluto’s outer space nightclub, let alone secure box office success. Maybe if the film played in cinemas in outer space as well as here…
