Some celebrity divorces have become news headlines just as quickly as famous marriages, and the public is often interested in how the couple’s assets will be divided and who will get custody of the children.

However, there are times when a Hollywood couple goes into business with each other, and both parties start making a pretty good living. In some cases, these couples decide to keep working together, even after their romantic relationship has ended. This may seem like a weird arrangement, but some former couples are able to make it work. Plus, stranger things have happened in Hollywood. 10. Jennifer Carpenter and Michael C. Hall Jennifer Carpenter and Michael C. Hall actually played adoptive siblings on the creepy yet addictive series Dexter , which centered around a somewhat lovable serial killer. There was no denying that the two actors were falling in love, and they decided to tie the knot in 2008. They divorced three years later, but Dexter was still a huge hit at the time, so Hall and Carpenter had to keep showing up to work and pretending that everything was great. Carpenter also appeared on the show The Good Wife , and made her stage debut in the play Gruesome Playground Injuries . Hall appeared in another eerie drama, Six Feet Under , before starring in Dexter , and also starred in the independent movie Kill Your Darlings .

9. Sophia Bush and Chad Michael Murray Bush and Murray were once co-stars on the hit show One Tree Hill , and ended up falling in love while working together. Chad and Sophia got married in 2005, but the marriage only lasted for five months. Allegedly, Chad Michael Murray wasn’t quite ready to be a husband, and had several affairs, much to the chagrin of his new wife. Sofia Bush filed for divorce, but the two still had to work together. Bush has stated that the two tried to be professional, even though it was strange to work so closely with an ex-spouse, and that they were way too young to get married. Both Sophia Bush and Chad Michael Murray have moved on to new acting projects. Bush stars on Chicago P.D. and has appeared on Nip/Tuck . Murray went on to star in movies such as A Cinderella Story and House of Wax .

Jack and Meg White, also known as The White Stripes, were married from 1996 to 2000, but by the time they gained the attention of the public with their music, they had already gotten a divorce. The Whites confused the media for quite some time about the nature of their relationship, and it was eventually assumed that the two were brother and sister. This arrangement would likely be strange for most people, but Meg and Jack seemed to be just fine with it—for a while, anyway. They continued making music together for 10 more years before The White Stripes went the way of their marriage.

However, shortly after the two married, Tracey Edmonds made a name for herself as a film producer when she produced the 1997 movie Soul Food . She was even one of the production forces behind Soul Food, when it became an HBO series. Babyface and Tracey divorced in 2005, and in an interview with Oprah, Kenneth admits that he was never really in love with his ex-wife. Maybe that’s why it’s so easy for the two to continue working together. The former couple have a production company called Edmonds Entertainment, and the projects they choose to get behind tend to do quite well. Tracey has since been linked to Eddie Murphy and most recently Deion Sanders.

5. Russell Simmons and Kimora Lee Simmons Russell Simmons is Rev Run (of Run DMC)’s older brother, and Rev credits Russell for piquing his interest in hip-hop, culture and fashion. Russell is a pretty savvy businessman, and is the driving force behind Phat Farm clothing. When the brand started to wane in popularity, he started working with his then-wife, former model Kimora, to create Baby Phat, which was geared toward women and girls. Kimora and Russell have two daughters together, and officially divorced in 2009. Kimora also has two sons: one with her ex, actor Djimon Hounsou, and one with current husband Tim Leissner. They stated that they had separated well before this, but continued to work together. The exes continued to make great business moves together, such as starting the Simmons Jewelry Company. Kimora even starred in her own reality show, Kimora: Life In the Fab Lane , and Russell was featured in a few episodes. The former couple have two sons, one of whom has autism, so their commitment to doing what’s best for their children is part of what keeps them from bickering. Braxton and Lewis were married from 2001 to 2013, and have worked together musically since their split. Keri Lewis was actually the musical director for one of his ex-wife’s tours, and played the drums in her band.
