4. Big Moe

Houston rapper Big Moe, who was one of the members of The Screwed Up Click, will always be known for his 2000 hit, “Purple Stuff.” The single was off the album “Purple World,” and hit number three on the Billboard charts in 2002. The song, was, of course about “purple drank,” and was glorifying drug use. Seven years later, Big Moe died of a heart attack, due to having too much promethazine codeine in his system. He was only 34 years old, and before he passed away, he was in a coma for a week. Unfortunately, this sad situation didn’t exactly deter other rappers from using the drug.
