Bruce Jenner, the Olympic gold medalist, shocked the world when he came out as a transgender woman in 2015. The athlete, father, grandfather and American sports legend came out during a much-anticipated20/20 interview with Diane Sawyer, which aired in April. Although the media had predicted this transition months before, his courage to come out as a “her” was admirable. Caitlyn opened many doors for the transgender community and was truly responsible for the most talked about event in 2015. Caitlyn, formally known as Bruce Jenner, claims to be happier than ever and has stated that “he is happy to no longer be living a lie.”
