14. Fashion Police

The television show Fashion Police hit a downward spiral in 2015 when it was placed on hiatus after Kathy Griffin and Kelly Osbourne quit. The pair left the show after Giuliana Rancicmade a comment about Zendaya’s dreadlocks at the Oscars. During an episode of the show Rancic said that the actress’ hairdo made her look like she “smelled like patchouli oil or weed.” Although Rancic claims the comment was not meant in a racist manner viewers and Zendaya took it that way.

Zendaya was in fact extremely insulted by the comment and went directly to social media with her response. “There is already harsh criticism of African American hair in society without the help of ignorant people who choose to judge others based on the curl of their hair…to me, locks are a symbol of strength and beauty, almost like a lion’s mane.”
