Velasco was born in the Philippines and is half Filipino, one-quarter Spanish, and one-quarter Irish. She finished ninth on the third season of American Idol. Camile’s single “Guava Jelly” was produced by Stephen Marley and won the Hawaii Music Awards’ Single of the Year in 2009.
