Nigeria’s new technical adviser Gernot Rohr has revealed that his main focus at the moment is qualifying the Super Eagles for Russia 2018 and not thinking about whether he’ll be paid his salary or not. Rohr was speaking today in a media press briefing at Le Meriden Hotel, Uyo, Akwa Ibom and when he was asked by a reporter why he chose to still coach Nigeria despite the Football Association’s treatment of coaches like Samson Siasia in the past, he responded, saying his focus is on building a formidable team to take the team to the next World cup.
“My problem at the moment is not when my salary is coming; my problem is building a national team,” he said. “We have a contract, and I see everyone who signed the contract as being honest.”
Rohr also said he came with “German mentality”, and that he was proud to be in Nigeria working with the Super Eagles.
