Lionel Messi has revealed Barcelona’s style has changed drastically since the departure of Pep Guardiola from the Camp Nou.
Ahead of Champions League clash between Manchester city and Barcelona, Messi who was part of the Barca team that won several laurels under former manager Pep Guardiola has said the Catalan giants has opted for more attacking play under Luis Enrique.
The Argentine star revealed to the Sun: “In reality, the system of Barcelona is something that everyone knows,
“I can say we are one of the few clubs that have it, but each boss has different things and applies them as he sees fit.
“We have not noticed massive changes but, yes, with Luis Enrique we are a bit more aggressive when we attack at speed, whilst with Pep we used counter-attacks less.
“City are a great team. They have always been a great team each year we have faced them but now, by having Pep, they will grow more through his work,”
Manchester City will hope to redeem themselves at the Etihad on Tuesday after getting bashed 4-0 by Barcelona at the first leg of their Champions League double header at the Camp Nou.
