The Blues came into the game hoping to set a new English Premier League run with 14 straight wins, having won their previous 13 matches consecutively.
The build up to the game was massive and both teams lived up to expectation right from the first blast of the whistle.
Eden Hazard had a glorious chance to put his side ahead just five minutes into the game, but his close-ranged shot missed the target.
The hosts continued to press for the lead and came close in the 23rd minute when Christian Eriksen’s shot went just off target.
The deadlock was eventually broken on the stroke of half-time when Dele Alli was left unmarked in the area, with the England international heading home in style; both teams went into the break with the hosts leading 1 – 0.
Dele Alli completed his brace 9 minutes into the second half to ensure Conte’s men return to Stamford Bridge with no point. It ended: Tottenham 2 – 0 Chelsea.
