Every year, in October, the Olojo Festival is held. Olojo is quite popular in Ile-Ife because of the myth and history surrounding it. Olojo can also be literally translated as the “Owner for the day”. Prayers are offered for peace and tranquillity in Yoruba land and Nigeria. All age groups participate. 1. The Olojo festival is held annually in Ile Ife Osun state
2. It is the celebration of the remembrance of “Ogun”, god of Iron, who is believed to be the first son of Oduduwa, the progenitor of the Yoruba people.
