Game of Thrones’s eighth and final season which takes an epic form towards the end of George RR Martin’s compelling tale of kings and kingdoms will return in mid-2019. The suspense on how the final season hopes to end remains disclosed.
While HBO has only confirmed that Game of Thrones will return in the ‘first half’ of 2019, fans think that the series will likely return around April 2019.
According to Maisie Williams, who plays the character of Arya had previously hinted on the first episode airing in April 2019
HBO is keeping information regarding the upcoming season very close to their chest, barely revealing any actual new footage and doing all they can to prevent leaks.
The showrunners David Benioff and D B Weiss have decided to limit the length of season eight to just six episodes. This was because HBO went against their initial plan to release three feature-length movies as it occurred in Lord of The Rings.
Reports have previously claimed that each episode will also run for around 80 to 90 minutes – longer than the normal 60 minutes for the show.
As each episode costs about $15 million to produce, Variety previously claimed Emilia Clarke, (Daenerys Targaryen), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jamie Lannister), Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister), Kit Harrington (Jon Snow) and Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister) will all get $500,000 (£384,000) per episode.
The season 8 plot remains a mystery to everyone. The crew spent a massive 55 days filming one major battle in at the Moneyglass Base in Northern Ireland.
Dinklage said the scene “makes ‘Battle of the Bastards’ look like a theme park.”
Francesca Orsi, the Senior Vice President of HBO’s drama series, has spoken about the final episode, saying the script left the cast and crew crying.
