Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the renowned Swedish footballer, has made the decision to bring an end to his illustrious career at the age of 41.
AC Milan bid a heartfelt farewell to Ibrahimovic on Sunday, marking the conclusion of a season marred by injuries.
The Italian club had previously announced that they would not be extending his contract, which is set to expire this June.
In a poignant announcement, Ibrahimovic stated on Sunday that “the time has come to say goodbye to football.” The Milan fans demonstrated their affection for him, displaying a large Tifo spelling out the word ‘Goodbye’ as a tribute. Additionally, his teammates honored him with a guard of honor as he exited the pitch.
Having commenced his professional journey at Malmo FF in 1999, Ibrahimovic later played for prominent European clubs such as Ajax Amsterdam, Manchester United, Inter Milan, and Milan throughout his remarkable career.
