An aide to the new Governor of Delta State who spoke to BREAKING TIMES on Wednesday on condition of anonymity disclosed that Governor Okowa met a “skeleton” Government House in Asaba upon his official resumption on Monday.
“The situation is so bad that they even took toiletries with them. As I am talking to you, nothing is in that building, nothing. Uduaghan took all the furniture, pulled out electrical fittings, mattresses, bedhseets and even light bulbs. What does a former Governor need with those things?”, he queried.
Efforts to reach former Governor Uduaghan to confirm his side of the story on Wednesday proved abortive as his spokesperson was not reachable.
The Delta State Governor on his first day in office on Monday was denied access to the office of the Governor at the Government House Complex in Asaba.
Government House Complex Permanent Secretary, Benson Oburoh, conducted a visibly shocked Governor Okowa round the premises on Monday.
Reports of official residence looting by outgoing Governors have been reported in some states.
