6) Malcolm Glazer – Manchester United – £2.7 Billion
Glazer made his money as president and chief executive officer of First Allied Corporation, which acts as a holding company for his many business interests. He controversially purchased Manchester United between 2003 and 2004 for an estimated £800million. The takeover saw the Glazer family restructure the £660million of debt they owed to complete the transfer and load a large amount of it on the club. In August 2012, Glazer floated Manchester United on the New York Stock Exchange, selling 10% of the club. SEE ALSO: Top 10 richest teens in the world – Under 18 (With Pictures)
