2. Shania Twain
When talented singer Shania Twain was a teenager, the Canadian beauty worked at McDonald’s. She was 18 at the time, and moved away from home in hopes of making it big as a singer. After the release of her 1997 album Come On Over, Twain became an international superstar. The success was a long time coming for her, since she began playing the guitar at 8 and writing songs when she was just 10 years old. When Twain’s parents died in a car accident, she returned to her hometown of Timmins to take care of her siblings, but she never stopped writing songs. One of her demos made it to Nashville, which led to her being signed to Polygram Records. SEE ALSO: 13 popular celebrities who love smoking weed (With Pictures)
