Current wrestlers in WWE : Every wrestler to lace up their boots and enter a ring dreams of one day becoming WWE Champion simply because it’s the most coveted title in the industry. For most, that dream will never become a reality. Not everyone has that “It Factor” it takes to be the top man in the business. Being the WWE Champion comes with the responsibilities of carrying the company on your shoulders, which is something not every superstar can handle.

This list is up for debate (to an extent). You may argue that certain wrestlers we included do have what it takes to be a Champion. After all, wrestlers like Sheamus and Daniel Bryan have both won WWE gold – but neither of them kept it for very long. WWE expects its Champions to become the face of the organization and work tirelessly night after night. That just isn’t going to happen for these 10 wrestlers. Now, without further ado, this list looks at 10 current WWE/NXT wrestlers who will never win the WWE Championship.

At one point during Sandow’s career it would have been a mistake to mention him on this list. After winning the “Money in the Bank” many thought Sandow was finally going to get the push he deserved. He unsuccessfully cashed it in and lost to then-champion John Cena. Even though he lost, many fans (and even good old JR) said this was just the beginning of Sandow and big things were coming. However, this was not the case and Sandow eventually went back to being a mid-card wrestler having a successful program teaming and later feuding with the Miz. Sandow is now off WWE television and his opportunity to ever hold the WWE Championship look bleak. He doesn’t have a character (he was last featured impersonating Macho Man) and it feels as if WWE officials have given up on him.

In the fans’ opinions, Neville has all the tools to be a WWE Champion. However, “fans know nothing” is what the WWE tries to make us believe. Neville has a very unique skill set with a surprising combination of speed and strength. His in-ring work is very good. His mic skills are a bit weak, but it isn’t too bad. Unfortunately, WWE see him as more of a mid-card wrestler and have been putting him in lackluster programs. WWE will tease us by putting Neville in the “Money in the Bank” match because he is so talented, but I think WWE will hold off from letting him win it. Neville will win multiple titles during his career, but as far as the WWE Championship is concerned, we probably have to wait until Triple H starts running things.

Ryback has headlined four pay-per-views for the WWE Championship but has never won any of them. Ryback is very physically imposing and has the physical characteristics to be a champion. However, when it comes to in-ring and mic ability, Ryback is very weak. He has improved in the ring, I will give him his props for that, but he still has a limited move set. As for his mic work, when he’s talking I’m usually changing channel; he is that boring. The age of having big men who can’t move as Champion are at an end, and unfortunately for Ryback, he fits in that category.

Rusev began his WWE career very hot and went nearly a year undefeated. However, recently he has flamed out and has been involved in lackluster programs. His recent run is an indication of where his career will be – as a mid-upper mid-card wrestler. I’m sure WWE will keep putting him in “Money in the Bank” or “Elimination Chamber” matches to give the notion he might one day win the WWE Championship, but as long as he’s involved in silly and pointless feuds involving Lana and Summer Rae, that’s not going to happen.

It’s a shame Barrett landed on this list, as he should have already have held the WWE Championship. At one point Barrett was a sure-fire future Champion in the minds of WWE fans, though that thought process has changed. Barrett continues to have pointless feuds and is settling in as a career upper mid-card wrestler. The most recent example is him winning the King of the Ring and WWE doing absolutely nothing with him with the storylines. Just like his King of the Ring victory becoming an afterthought, his chances of becoming a WWE Champion are too.

I’m very excited to see what WWE officials have planned for Samoa Joe once he makes it to the main roster. The smart move would be to throw Joe right away into the title picture, as many fans have been waiting a long time to see him in a WWE ring. The question is, will he ever hold the WWE title? The answer to that is no. Samoa Joe doesn’t have the look of a champion that WWE has in mind. He’s on the heavier side and if you look at the past few years, WWE hasn’t given the Championship to someone of his stature. Unfortunately for Joe, he’s in the back end of his career, so I don’t think he will be around when HHH takes over the reins of the company. That would have been his best shot of winning the title.

Vince McMahon just isn’t a fan of Cesaro, that’s the reason he will never win the WWE Championship title. On Stone Cold’s Podcast a few months back, Mcmahon stated he does not have the “It Factor” because he hasn’t connected with the crowd well enough. McMahon feels the Swiss Superman doesn’t have the charisma necessary to carry the WWE Championship belt. The explanation to all this was “I don’t know if it’s because he’s Swiss.” It’s evident that Vince has lost touch with reality and what the fans want. Shame.

Here’s another wrestler with all the talent in the world, but who won’t become WWE Champion. Just like our last entrant, the same reasons apply for Zayn (except for the being Swiss part). Now, I could be speculating, but I have a feeling Zayn will have to go through what Daniel Bryan did, and that’s years of clawing and grinding to get that push as a champion. Moreover, Zayn will need a heavy backing from fans for that push to succeed. In reality, I just don’t see another case like Daniel Bryan happening, and that’s why Zayn makes this list.

WWE recently teased fans by putting Sting in the Championship match at Night of Champions. But honestly, that was just to hype the pay-per-view. WWE is never going to make Sting hold the WWE Championship. Up till now the way WWE has been handling Sting has been downright embarrassing. He is an icon in this industry, yet he is 0-2 in WWE. It would have been an awesome experience for fans to see Sting hold the WWE Championship, but unfortunately we will never get to see that happen.

To most, seeing Ambrose on here is surprising, and many might be angered by it. When Ambrose started his singles career I thought he was destined for a mid-card spot on the roster. However, I was wrong and he proved he can be a main eventer. It was hard to put Ambrose here because he is so talented and his character is an intriguing blend, with a mix of Austin and the late Brian Pillman. However, I just don’t see WWE handing him the reins and making him WWE Champion. His antics are amusing but I’m not sure he can carry the company as Champion. Ambrose will be in the title picture many times during his career, but in his case, it will be an “always the bridesmaid, never the bride” situation.
