6. Writing it Down
The next time you pick up a murder mystery book, you might want to think twice about how unrealistic the murder scenes sound. A 34-year-old author from Poland named Krystian Bala almost got away with the perfect murder, his fatal error was writing all about it in his bestselling book Amok in 2003. Somebody in the police department had actually read the book and discovered that one of the murder scenes sounded really familiar. Upon closer examination, it was discovered that the details matched quite closely to an unsolved case from 2000. These close details led police to look closer into the unsolved case. What they discovered was that Mr. Bala and the murder victim had numerous connections, including the victim was romantically involved with Mr. Bala’s ex.
