8. Man Launches Fireworks From His Head, Quickly Dies

This one happened in the good old state of Maine, which is my stomping grounds. Now in Maine a lot of people like to drink, there is no doubt about that. And in Maine, just like in other parts of the country, people like fireworks, too – especially on the 4th of July. Sometimes people even use fireworks at the same time when inebriated, which obviously is not a good idea.
But one thing pretty much no one does, except for Devon Staples, is get drunk, strap a mortar to your head, and light it. On July 4, 2015, he was drunk and began telling his friends about a “stunt” that he thought would be funny to do. His friends kept trying to talk him out of it, but nope, he put a mortar on his head and lit it. He died instantly.
