The midfielder, who was first linked with the Gunners in December 2015 after impressing at the under-17 World Cup, penned his deal on Wednesday after seeing the Flying Eagles fail to qualify for the U-20 AFCON tournament. The CEO of ASJ Academy- Nwakali’s former Academy, Emeka Amajiriaku, told allnigeriasoccer.com: “Kelechi has signed with Arsenal, it is now a done deal. He signed the contract 3 pm today (Wednesday). ”
he added: “His mother and brother Allwell were there. Manchester City loanee Chidiebere Nwakali came all the way from Norway to London to witness his brother signing the contract. ” Nwakali took to Twitter to post snaps from London Colney as he confirmed he’d taken part in his first training session as an Arsenal player.
