48. Caroline Tekyi-Mensah, Ghanaian – Addictedtobags
Caroline Tekyi-Mensah’s love for business started at the age of 16 when she had to help her parents in their Unilever Distributorship business. She has engaged in all forms of businesses from sale of male sandals, estate agency to sale of cars, clothes, handbags and shoes. Caroline believed in the theory that every woman’s remarkable achievement is the result of a combination of many elements. This helped her gain immense entrepreneurship skills. As the demand for handbags augmented, she decided to concentrate solely on ladies’ handbags. Caroline is currently the CEO of Addictedtobags. It is an online shop that sells quality and authentic ladies’ hand bags. She sells both designer and non-designer bags. Her reason for this combination is to enable her to serve the needs of all her customers. She believes you can look good without being too expensive. She started with just ladies’ handbags but has gradually expanded by adding jewelries and sunglasses to the business portfolio. She hopes, in a few years, to expand her business to other parts of Africa.
