Popular Nollywood actress, Ini Edo, has revealed why she doesn’t consider herself a feminist.
In an interview with the ‘Tea with Taypod’ podcast, she spoke about Feminism and stated that she doesn’t consider herself as one.
According to her, she loves fighting for women’s rights but would not call herself a feminist because she was raised to respect men.
She stated that she wasn’t fighting to have equal rights with men or trying to be ‘King’, instead she is content with being a female and a ‘Queen’ as long as her partner allows her to be herself and doesn’t try to control her.
In her words:
“Being a feminist means different things to different people. I love to protect women’s rights and I feel the need for equality, but I am also a structured person. I have been raised a certain way. I am raised to respect and value men.”
