Ifu Ennada, a former Big Brother Naija contestant, expressed her admiration for UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya.
The actress said she would be willing to go on a date with the Nigerian-New Zealand MMA fighter if he is open to the idea.
Ifu stated this in an interview while discussing her favorite sports and athletes she admires.
When asked who she prefers between Anthony Joshua, Kamaru Usman, and Israel Adesanya, she picked the latter.
In her words; “My favourite would be Israel, and aside the fact that he is extremely handsome and hot, the fact that he is also petty, I love it. What he did to Pereira’s son by mocking him the way he mocked him after he won, I love it, some people were saying ‘why’, and I’m like ‘why not?’ I like the fact that he looked for the guy and gave it back to him.
I know he is an adult but that is something someone like me would do, so, I love him for that. He is very confident, I just love Izzy, he walks into a room and you can feel his energy, and that is the type of person I am as well.”
Ifu Ennada added; “If he wants to go on a date with me, why not?”
She said; “I used to be a big fan of wrestling until I discovered that their matches were scripted, I also like boxing but I don’t really follow it. What I follow now is the MMA and there are some Nigerians there like Israel Adesanya and Kamaru Usman.”
Speaking on Adesanya’s recent win over Alex Perreira, the BBNaija star said; “I was so happy, especially because he had lost to that guy three times before. I was delighted really and I left a comment on social media on a blog I follow, where I said, ‘a win for one is a win for all’ and someone even came at me, trying to bring politics into it because Izzy is Yoruba, and the person said something like ‘Igbos only choose to be Nigerian when it is convenient.’ And I just realised that this was coming from a tribalistic person.
I have always seen myself as a Nigerian, regardless of my tribe. I don’t see Yoruba, I don’t see Igbo and it is sad that someone will bring tribalism into sports. I almost placed a bet on the game actually. I had a feeling that Israel would win it, I think I forgot to tell a friend to place a bet on Izzy.”
