During a recent match, Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior received his first-ever La Liga red card for slapping Valencia’s Hugo Duro, causing a heated altercation on the field.
The incident unfolded when Vinicius was dribbling down the left side of the pitch. A second ball was thrown onto the field from the crowd, and Valencia defender Eray Comert kicked it off, unintentionally hitting the ball at Vinicius’ feet. Comert received a yellow card, and Madrid was awarded a free kick.

As the set piece was being prepared, Vinicius pointed out a fan in the crowd behind the goal, indicating that something inappropriate had been said.
After discussions with his teammates and referee Ricardo De Burgos Bengoetxea, the game continued, with the crowd being warned about racist abuse over the stadium’s loudspeaker.
In the added time of the match, a brawl erupted in the Valencia box, which culminated in Vinicius receiving a red card for slapping Hugo Duro.
As Vinicius made his way off the pitch, there was a further confrontation with the Valencia bench.
Ultimately, Real Madrid lost the match 1-0 to Valencia. It is worth noting that Vinicius has faced racist abuse throughout the 2022-23 season, with eight complaints already filed with La Liga.
