Breaking: Female Student Shot Dead In The Recent Apapa, Lagos Clash [Look]

Following a clash on Apapa road in the Ebute Meta area of Lagos between two groups on the night of Tuesday, October 14, 2014, some rebels shot and sniffed the life out of a female student identified as Uduma Joy.

It was learnt that the victim until her death was a student of of the Accounting Department from the Federal College of Education, Yaba, Lagos.

Punch reports said the hoodlums had earlier laid an ambush for the unsuspecting victim who was passing through the road and unfortunately fell into their trap.  as a student of the college, was passing through the Apapa Road, Ebute Meta, when she was waylaid by the hoodlums.

It was learnt that the hoodlums had fled after gunning the victim down due to her refusal to let them steal from her. Her remains was deposited in a mortuary thereafter.

Meanwhile, during the Sallah period, there was serious fight between the two groups identified as the Otto Boys and Apapa Road Boys.

The Tuesday clash between the groups was said to have caused serious pandemonium in the area which took the men of the Iponri Police Division to calm the situation.

According to a source present during the conflict identified as Mr Ishola Agbodemu, the violence has instilled fear in the members of the community where it happened.
He said, “The Otto boys and Apapa Road boys clashed again on Tuesday morning, causing pandemonium in the area. So on Tuesday night, the Otto boys came to stage a reprisal. About four of them carrying weapons were sighted in the area. On their way, they attempted to rob passersby. In the process, they robbed and killed a lady identified only as Joy, an Accounting student of the Federal College of Education, Akoka, Yaba, and Lagos.”

Confirming the clash, the police public relations officer, DSP Kenneth Nwosu said the situation had been calmed in the area adding that investigations were ongoing to fish out the late student’s murderers.

In his words, “Right now, many police officers have been dispatched to the area. One student of the Federal College of Education, Yaba, Lagos by name Joy Uduma, was killed.”
