1. You’re not sure if he actually has friends—because you’ve never met them. Whether you’ve been between his sheets once or 20 times, with a gun to your head you couldn’t recite his BFF’s name or describe to a sketch artist what he looks like. This man hasn’t bothered to introduce you to his friends, let alone tell you about them.

2. He’s never invited you to spend the night. It’s all wham-bam-thank-you-ma’am as he ushers you toward the front door and (reluctantly) offers you cab fare. If you’re into a postcoital cuddle, he may pat your back for a few minutes before he excuses himself to the bathroom, returning fully dressed and wondering why you’re still curled up naked.

3. Come to think of it, he’s never actually taken you on a date. He may have offered to split the cost of a postsex pizza or served you a drink from his home bar, but this dude has never taken you on a real date—you know, the kind where he picks you up, pays, and takes you home with a peck on the cheek and a “I can’t wait to see you again.”

5. He compliments you—on how you look. Why? Because he hasn’t taken the time to get beyond what he can see from two feet away, possibly in the dark.

6. He “forgets” foreplay and heads straight for the grand finale. A man who wants more wants to give you a reason to come back for more. A man who wants sex cares first and foremost (and only) about his own orgasm.

7. He talks badly about his friends’ girlfriends. Does it seem strange that all the women his friends date are somehow gold-diggers, nitwits, or otherwise incapable of making men happy? Red flag, my dears.
