He also currently has a 10-year contract with Nike to use their golf equipment that will see him earn around £150-million. Add to this that his name now features on EA Sports PGA Tour series rather than Tiger Woods, and McIlroy has every chance of becoming an even bigger household name than his former idol. The Northern Irishman has already had some high profile personal controversy, having to pay his former management company an £18-million settlement and calling off his engagement to tennis star, Caroline Wozniacki, after the couple had send out their wedding invitations. Away from golf he is also known for his generous charity work, raising £1-million for the Daisy Lodge support centre for children with cancer through the Rory McIlroy Foundation.
