Jack Osbourne
Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Diagnosed at age 26, just weeks after the birth of his daughter in 2012, Osbourne told People magazine that he sought medical attention after experiencing changes in his sight. “All of a sudden a black dot appeared in my vision … The next day I woke up and the dot had turned into a cigar shape. After three days I knew it was bad. I couldn’t see anything in front of me with my right eye—all I could see was my peripheral vision.”

What is MS? A disease of the Central Nervous System, MS attacks the myelin sheath surrounding individual nerve cells, causing the nerve signal to slow or diminish entirely. Although there is not yet a cure for MS, Osbourne told People that medication and a healthier lifestyle have helped reduce his symptoms. “It’s just one of those things you take as it comes. It’s all about your outlook. My life is far from over,” he says. Osbourne’s doctors have tailored his medication regimen and promoted a lifestyle plan that Osbourne says have helped improve his symptoms and reduce his risk of complications from the disease.
