6. Matthew McConaughey
Matthew McConaughey began his career with his breakout role in the 1993 comedy, Dazed and Confused. He went on to become the bad-boy surfer typecast, and starred in many romantic comedies through the 2000s. By 2010, he had reinvented himself as one of the premiere dramatic actors, starring in roles such as The Lincoln Lawyer, Mud, The Wolf of Wall Street, and Dallas Buyers Club, which earned him an Academy Award for Best Actor. He also starred in the 2014 acclaimed HBO series True Detective.
Even though he’s regarded as one of this generation’s best actors, he’s had his troubles, just like everyone else. From ranting on-and-on somewhat incoherently during award shows, to being seen absolutely blitzed in public by paparazzi and media, it just goes to show that no one can escape the tabloid ire in Hollywood.
