There were reports that the former team captain decided to dump the national team after he was sure he received N20m in backlog of unpaid wages from the NFF.
In a chat with footballlive.ng, the embattled ex-international denied receiving N20million from the football house, adding that he would involve his lawyers to take up the matter.
“When I was coach, I couldn’t say or do anything,” he started. “I am no longer coach now and if they continue saying this, I would ask my lawyers to take up the matter with them because as at 11:01pm when I resigned, when I sent in my resignation letter, we have not been paid.
“As I am telling you now, I have not received alert. My assistant called the bank yesterday, I spoke with my bank manager yesterday, nothing was paid.
“So, it is not a question that they paid me and I resigned; And even if they paid me, what is the fault? It is my money that they are owing me.
Recall that on Friday February 26, the controversial coach who had blasted his critics took to his official Twitter handle to announce his resignation, citing unpaid salaries, lack of cooperation, among other factors, as responsible for his action.
Meanwhile, the NFF has announced replacements for former Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh.
The governing body named Dream Team coach Samson Siasia, Flying Eagles coach Emmanuel Amuneke, assistant coaches under Oliseh, Salisu Yusuf and Alloy Agu to temporarily take charge of the team ahead of the crucial double-header against Egypt.
The combination was recommended by the NFF Technical and Development Committee following Sunday Oliseh’s resignation.
