Apple to unveil iPhone 7 next week – Apple has sold over 214 million iPhones over the past 12 months. While that might sound impressive, sales are actually down from last year, meaning the company may need to shake things up a bit in order to renew interest in their hottest product.
Apple holds an event every September where they debut new products and features that are soon to be released. It’s expected that they’ll unveil their newest version of the iPhone, rumored (shockingly) to be called the iPhone 7, at this year’s product launch event, taking place September 7 in San Francisco.ch
Various rumors are circulating as to the new features the iPhone 7 may have. A big one is the removal of the headphone jack. This will allow the phone to be thinner and more water resistant, but could be an inconvenience for consumers. It’s speculated that Apple might include wireless earbuds with the new iPhone, or headphones that plug into the phone’s Lightning port.
It’s also being speculated that the larger iPhone 7 Plus will include dual cameras which could give it the edge over Samsung and other Android phones in the photography department. This new photo system will take two pictures simultaneously with each camera capturing colors differently. The phone’s software will combine the images to create a brighter picture.
Apple could also be upgrading the 16GB entry level model to 32GB. Finally, the new iPhone will likely be shipped with iOS 10, Apple’s latest operating system, which will see improvements to iMessage and Siri, as well as an improved Photo app.
Visually the 7 may not look too different from its older cousin, however Apple is reportedly working on 3 new iPhone models that could feature different designs, including a curved screen similar to that of Samsung’s most recent models.
