12. Kardashians: Millions, Sweat Shops: $1/Hr

The Kardashians found themselves in hot water in 2011 when it was discovered that their products were being made in sweatshop conditions at the ShoeDazzle factory. In fact, some of the employees in the factory were under the age of 16, making the case for child labor allegations against the Kardashian clan. The Guangdong province in China was a location for one of the factories, but authorities insisted that the working conditions there were fair and nowhere near the level that newspapers were reporting. Yet other reporters decided to go undercover in Guangdong and found women working for just $1/hour in sweltering heat and overcrowded work spaces. Yikes!

11. The $5 Million Sex Tape

This is where it all started, folks. When Kim was the mysterious woman in Ray J’s sex tape, she started to capitalize on the whole thing. Can you say “Gold-digger?” Years later, Kim said that that the sex tape was her worst regret ever and she didn’t try to use it to catapult her celebrity status. Right, Kim. We believe you (not). The 2007 tape was the catalyst for the Kardashian mess we have today. As for Ray J, he’s not too keen on the whole Kardashian clan. He says that they basically got rich and famous off of him and they owe him. Big time.

10. The $325 Pen Bribe

Supposedly Kris Jenner tried to bribe a New York Post journalist from writing a bad review of her show by offering to pay her off with a $325 pen. Not only was this in bad taste, but $325 is probably what Kris spends on chewing gum in any given week. Besides coming off as a complete jerk, Kris also insulted the writer’s intelligence and values by trying to buy her off with a pen (who cares if it was a Tiffany pen?) Apparently Kris threw in some cupcakes from Magnolia bakery, too. Writer Linda Stasi wrote about Kris’ terrible parenting skills, leading to the whole bribe scenario. All so that she wouldn’t try to room with Kanye and Kim once their baby was born. Kris may have been getting a bit too clingy for Kanye’s liking. Kim and Kanye put their old house, a mansion in Bel Air, on the market and transitioned into a $20 million home in Hidden Hills. She started out by dating T.J. (who was the nephew of Michael Jackson!) In fact, Kim was a frequent visitor to Neverland. They now have two lovely kids together, daughter North West and son Saint West. They even baptized North in Jerusalem. Kim said she’s done with pregnancies since suffering from placenta accreta.

7. Kim’s 14 th Birthday Party was Held at Neverland

That’s what happens when you date Michael Jackson’s nephew. Kim was just a young teen, but she can still remember the wonder of Neverland. Animals, acrobatics, carnival rides…the list goes on and on. At least when the Kardashians were growing up. Kim, Kourtney, Khloe, and Rob can recall the days when they were required to show up to church and Sunday school every week. So what happened? 5. The 72-Day Marriage

The time it took Kim to recover from her divorce from Kris Humphries was longer than the length of their marriage. She said that she felt “paranoid” about the whole thing and had to take a step back. She was actually afraid that the divorce would ruin things for her and her family’s fame. Kim filed for divorce on Halloween in 2011 and things weren’t finalized until April 2013. Humphries originally asked for $7 million from Kim, but later dropped the request (why? That’s chump change for a Kardashian.) It seems that Kim rebounded nicely though, at least if you can consider Kanye to be a catch?

4. Their Reality Show Contract

According to reports, E! had made a 4-year, $100,000 contract for Keeping Up with the Kardashians . Sources close to the producers said that the contract was actually for $80 million, but who’s counting? Different people in the show receive different paychecks. Can you guess who gets the highest salary? Yep, that would be Kim Kardashian. Apparently, the guys in the clan were snubbed. Rob will only get paid if he appears on the series, and he’ll be paid by the episode. As for Scott Disick, he snagged his own deal outside the Kardashian one. Either way, these are numbers that most of us can’t even fathom.

In 2011, she recorded “Jam (Turn it Up)” and donated half of the profits she made from the song to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. She bought him a Lamborghini when he turned 35. Hey, we would take it. The Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4’s price tag is up for debate, with some saying it cost as much as $750,000! We really wouldn’t doubt that either. Kim presented her man with the birthday gift after he finished a concert in Dublin, Ireland, where he was performing as part of his Watch the Throne tour. So, Kim went all the way to northern Europe, with a car that she spent mad money for, and stayed faithfully in the crowd to watch her guy perform. What a gal.
